A Moorhead Tradition - A Night for Neighbors!
In 2007, over 4,350 Moorhead residents in 87 neighborhoods gathered
together as neighbors to affirm their commitment to a safe, healthy
community by participating in the 24th Annual National Night Out (NNO). This event is an important city tradition.
NNO has become an established part of each summer and it continues to grow and get better. More
residents attend events and more events are held each year. Various sectors of the community - new
arrivals, people of all ages and backgrounds, businesses large and small, the faith community - participate
in National Night Out every summer.
Your NNO celebration can be as simple as cookies and lemonade on the lawn or much more elaborate,
like barbeques and bike parades. The important thing is to bring people out to connect, converse and
celebrate. NNO is a Moorhead tradition we want to keep going strong!
As you plan your NNO event, try to draw in all of the people you can. Everyone benefits when neighbors
know each other. The connections that are made and strengthened through NNO carry far beyond that evening.
Close-knit neighborhoods are safe neighborhoods.
