National Night Out is now NIGHT TO UNITE!
The Minnesota Crime Prevention Association, of which the Moorhead Police
Department is a member, has decided to withdraw from National Night Out and
start its own night out for neighbors, called Minnesota Night to Unite. This
event will be held on the first Tuesday in August, just like NNO.
This change is exciting because it is an opportunity for Minnesota to create its
own identity around the idea of neighborhood solidarity and safety and for the
Minnesota Crime Prevention Association to offer reasonably priced Night to Unite
products, the proceeds for which will stay in Minnesota and benefit this
non-profit association. The Moorhead Police Department will promote and be
actively involved in this event.
This is an opportunity for Moorhead residents to gather as neighbors to affirm
their commitment to a safe, healthy community. As you plan your NTU event, try
to draw in all the people you can. Everyone benefits when neighbors know each
other. The connections that are made and strengthened through NTU carry far
beyond this evening. Close-knit neighborhoods are safe neighborhoods.
To register for Night To Unite submit the Online Form or print and mail the Night to Unite Neighborhood Registration Form.
Participate in the 2nd annual Night to Unite and help keep Moorhead's tradition of strong and vibrant neighborhoods going!
Together, let's
make this a record setting year!
