The Patrol Division began a complete upgrade of most all technology utilized on a daily
basis. These upgrades make the current equipment being utilized by Patrol Officers
state of the art. These upgrades include:
Datalux Mobile Data Terminals:
These units allow Officers to access all types of databases from their patrol vehicles.
These units are specifically designed for police car use, making them extremely durable
and user friendly.
VisionHawk Mobile Data Recording Unit:
These units have replaced all prior VHS videotaping units in the patrol vehicles. Visionhawk will digitally record all traffic stops, and any other activity for which an officer may need them. Visionhawk cameras record windshield views and activities in the patrol car's back seat. The system automatically uploads its images to a computer server when the car returns to the Law Enforcement Center. Officers have access to all recorded images via any desktop computer, or from inside their patrol vehicles. The Visionhawk system has proven to be a valuable tool in prosecution of criminal cases, and resolution to internal complaints.
