Telephone Police Reports

If you have experienced any of the events listed below and you do not have any suspects in the incident, you can contact the Moorhead Police Department to have a report prepared over the telephone.


[Of course, you always have the option of having a police officer stop by to take a report. However, many people do not find it necessary to speak directly to an officer, but simply want to report the event for insurance purposes.]

  • Vandalism under $250
  • Lost or stolen purse or wallet
  • Lost or stolen cell phone
  • Stolen yard ornaments or other outdoor fixtures with total value under $250
  • Stolen bikes

If you have experienced any of these events, please call 218.299.5120 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to report the incident. Please be prepared to answer some simple questions by the Moorhead Police Department employee taking your report. You will be given a report number at the time of your call for your records.
