High School Seat Belt Challenge
The Moorhead Police Department, along with Clay County Public Health Department and law enforcement agencies from throughout Clay County, sponsor the "High School Seat Belt Challenge." In the challenge, high school students provide a program of education to their peers on the benefits of properly using a seat belt. An informal observational survey of seat belt usage is conducted before the program begins, at midpoint in the program and again at the conclusion of the program. The school with the highest seat belt usage rate at the program’s end is the winner and an appropriate reward is offered. In the past, this has been a pizza party for the entire high school population!

Safe Communities Coalition of the Red River Valley helps to coordinate the challenge by providing support and materials.
